How long has the business agency Eco Nova already been active in the market?
Eco Nova, a 100-percent subsidiary of the City of Wiener Neustadt, has been active since February of 2009. Our tasks are the marketing of city-owned land reserves and the promotion of new business settlements in Wiener Neustadt, in areas that are owned by ecoplus, Civitas Nova Wiener Neustadt GrundstücksgesellschaftmbH or other land owners.
How much space is available for Eco Nova to market directly?
We own around 10 hectares of land for new business settlements. Together with ecoplus, Civitas Nova Wiener Neustadt
GrundstücksgesellschaftmbH and private land owners, the land reserve for commercial and industrial building land amounts to approximately 107 hectares; however, not all of this space is currently being offered for sale or for lease. At the moment, the average price level for undeveloped industrial land that is zoned as commercial or industrial building land is between 40 and 70 EUR per square metre.
Which companies have been convinced to settle in Wiener Neustadt since Eco Nova was founded?
The supermarket chain Adeg is planning to open a new store on a private property; the Green Cross ambulance service is building a station in Wiener Neustadt; and the staffing company APS Austria Personalservice GmbH & Co KG as well as a company in the plastic pipes business settled in our city in 2009.
Does Eco Nova also market finished properties such as warehouses or office buildings?
No, but on request we will gladly assist in finding suitable properties together with local real estate agents.
Where is most of Eco Nova’s land located?
The majority of our land is located in the city’s northern sector, in the urban development area Civitas Nova. The area is also home to the business settlement areas by ecoplus and the medical research facility MedAustron. The Civitas Nova area currently offers approximately 34 hectares of undeveloped industrial land.
Do you expect MedAustron, the future centre for ion therapy and research, to be a driver for new business settlements?
Definitely, yes – besides the MedAustron research centre, there also are plans for the new construction of the Lower Austrian regional hospital of Wiener Neustadt. This will create a medical competence centre of the highest calibre, which will be an attractive production and research location for all businesses in this field. We have already received the first inquiries from inside Austria as well as abroad regarding this.
Are there also new business settlements in the environment of the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt?
Yes – for example, the aircraft manufacturer Diamond Aircraft, and Schiebel, a company specializing in building unmanned aerial drones. Around the University of Applied Sciences, a high-tech centre focused on the subject of aviation has been successfully emerging throughout the years.
What other advantages does the location of Wiener Neustadt offer?
Wiener Neustadt is certainly one of the best-developed locations in Austria when it comes to traffic. With two motorways and the southern railway line, we have a fast and most reliable connection into the Greater Vienna area as well as into Bratislava and Hungary. Furthermore, there are two airports in the immediate vicinity of the business settlement zones, one of which is also suitable for smaller cargo planes.
